Why choosing our accommodation in Dublin?

If you are planning to stay in Dublin for few days or even longer, the first thing you need to search is somewhere to sleep!

Like other big cities, there are many different types of accommodation: hostels, B&B, hotels and houses for rent are most common options. Unfortunately, Dublin can prove particularly costly in this sector. Hotels and B&Bs are beyond many people's budgets (€50-€100 per night). Trying to find a house to rent for short time can be very difficult and expensive too(one bedroom apartments cost at least €700-€800 per month).

This is the reason why many people coming to Dublin decide to choose hostels as their initial step and, once arrived in the city, starting searching for a room or apartment.

Reasons to stay in a hostel

Hostels have just one major indisputable advantages: they are the cheapest solution!  However, they are also extremely uncomfortable, especially for longer.

There is plenty of hostel in Dublin and they offer different accommodation solutions. You can start from a minimum of €10-€15 per night for a bed (in a type of dormitory with 10-20 beds) to €60-70 per night for a private room which can sometimes have an ensuite (don't forget that hostels usually have shared facilities).

In any case, if you choose to stay in a dormitory, you will pay between €70 and €180 euro per week in total. However, this is with the obvious problems and disadvantages this brings (which we will discuss below). If you prefer a private room (generally there would be a max of 4 per room), you will pay approx €300 per person for a week.

10 reasons to choose a VivahouseDublin room above a hostel.

    1.    Price.  Staying in a hostel is worthy if you stay for a few days. That is why hostels are the ideal solution for travellers. However, in the long run, when staying for longer periods, you will end up paying more in a hostel than in a Vivahouse accommodation.
    2.    Convenience. If you have ever stayed in a hostel, at least once, you know exactly what we are talking about. In a hostel, you have absolutely no space and after staying for a week, your own space becomes a necessity.
    3.    The Kitchen. One of the main aspects of staying in a hostel is a communal kitchen which includes a long queue for cooking at peak times and this experience shows how often the cutlery/utensils can be dirty. Think about how many people use them every day and don't even bother to wash them properly. Some hostels don't even have kitchens. This means you have to eat out for breakfast, lunch and dinner, which can end up being very expensive in Dublin.
    4.    The Bathrooms. In hostels, the bathrooms are communal. With obvious disadvantages, like queues and hygiene problems. Inside Vivahouse Dublin apartments/houses, you will share the bathroom with your housemates only, not with strangers. Therefore, you can keep it clean and tidy as you wish.
    5.    Baggage. In hostels you don't have space to store your baggage properly. More often than not, your baggage ends up on top of the bed. You have no space to sort out your clothes and you have to keep everything in your bags. On top of that, if you have valuables, (phone, ipod, laptop), you always have to be careful and mind your stuff, even when you walk few minutes away. Stealing in hostels is well noted as being a common occurrence. For this reason, many hostels offer a safety box, however they cost between 1-5 euro per day
    6.    Atmosphere. When you stay in a hostel, you always feel like guests. If you intend staying in Dublin for a longer period, it is advisable to get rented accommodation straight away so you can sort your stuff out as soon as possible and get yourself sorted too. Guess what is coming home after a long day at work/school to a place where there are 10 people without the chance to relax or rest. Vivahousedublin guarantees you a single or double room with your own space.
    7.    People. In hostels, you have a great opportunity to meet lots of people. However, more than likely, you will end up sharing space with people you don't like. And there is nothing you can do to get rid of them. The Vivahouse Dublin apartments finds Italian/French/Spanish tenants as well as from other nationalities who share your experiences and will become your best friends.
    8.    Address. If you come to Dublin and intend to stay to look for work. you need a PPS number. To get one, you need prof which shows you are resident in the country and also resident at an address. Staying at Vivahouse Dublin, we can arrange that confirmation of address for you. In general, the hostels will not do this for you. In any case, if you give the address of a hostel, the company you are applying to for a job will not take your application seriously because they will think you are not serious about staying and that you are only passing why with no intention to work for long. In order to get paid from work, you need a bank account , so you need a correspondence address.  Staying in a Vivahouse Dublin resolves all these issues
    9.    Flexibility: choosing a house while you are abroad is not easy, especially for few weeks. If you choose an accommodation which seems cheap but then you don't like it, you are bound to pay the whole month, plus your deposit. On top of that, you have to find a substitute to take over your room when you leave. This can result in stress and excessive costs,  because you are on your own and trying to find ways to save
In contract to the above, Vivahouse Dublin offers you the possibility to stay for the first week, and it does not suit your needs, our staff will help you find something to suit you better. This is without hidden costs because your satisfaction is the most important thing.
    10.    Language: If you leave for Dublin without being able to speak English fluently, you could find yourself encountering problems in a hostel. Even if hostels' receptionists speak foreign languages and you meet other people from other nationalities, there are stories of foreigners paying over their fees because they have signed something they shouldn't because they did not understand!  With Vivahouse Dublin, you have complete support in your languages, to facilitate your new beginning.
